Moog Australia established in 1979, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Moog Inc., a leading global supplier delivering motion control and electronic solutions to the military. As a Defence supplier since 2003, Moog Australia has been actively supporting the efforts of Australian and New Zealand's operational and training forces.
Moog provides mission critical systems and components across Land, Air and Sea platforms including the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet, Black Hawk, AP-3C Orion, ASLAV, M113AS4, M1A1, LHD, AWD, Collins-Class Submarine and future platforms including the F-35 Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter and the Boxer CRV. Moog’s mission is to design and manufacture mission critical defence solutions from Australia for the Asia-Pacific, focused on weaponisation and precision motion control.

In fact, approximately 80% of the Australian Defence Force's guided weapons inventory utilizes Moog's motion control content.

At Moog, we specialise in integrated turret design for Missile Launch Pedestals (our Flexible Missile Platform - FMP) and the Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform (RIwP®). Our FMP is a versatile missile, mission, and platform agnostic system that allows users to fire the missile(s) of their choice from any vehicle or trailer. The RIwP is a flexible, scalable remote turret designed to provide tailored overmatch and improved survivability against current and emerging threats across the full spectrum of conflict.

In Australia, Moog's motion control solutions are used in a variety of applications, including the Australian Army's Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV), M113AS4 APC, and Boxer CRV. We are proud to provide in-country support for these platforms, ensuring optimal performance and readiness in the field.

We collaborate closely with our customers, vehicle manufacturers and the armed forces to modernise, retrofit, and repurpose existing assets. Our engineers are proficient in both electromechanical (EM) and electrohydraulic (EH) motion control systems and technologies, providing system upgrades that adhere to stringent space, weight, and power requirements.
In Australia, we played a pivotal role in upgrading the Australian Army's Vietnam-era M113AS1 to the presently equipped M113AS4. Moog's scope encompassed the design, development, manufacture, and supply of the gun turret drive system for the electrically powered turret.

Our marine technologies include electrohydraulic (EH), electrohydrostatic (EHA), and electromechanical (EM) motion control devices for nuclear submarines, deep submersibles, surface and blue water ships.
In Australia, Moog's motion control solutions are widely used on naval vessels such as the Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD), Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD), and Collins Class Submarine. We are proud to have designed and manufactured some of these actuation solutions locally, including our innovative electrohydrostatic actuation system (EHAS). EHAS is a self-contained, power-on-demand and high-power-density actuation system that enables the elimination of hydraulic infrastructure, fluid and componentry, while delivering superior performance and reliability compared to traditional hydraulic systems.
