On November 17, Swedish firm SES SIRIUS AB's Sirius 4 satellite, controlled in part by Moog's new Common Platform Thruster Valve (CPTV), roared into orbit aboard an International Launch Services Proton rocket. Departing from the Cosmodrome in Baikonur, Russia, the Sirius 4 will beam direct-to-home broadcast and interactive services across Scandinavia, Europe and Africa.
"We are very proud and satisfied that the Sirius 4 mission has been a success", said Håkan Sjödin, Managing Director of SES SIRIUS. We would like to underline the very good cooperation with our launch partners."
