Moog's Space and Defense Group is currently searching for a Senior Project Engineer- Launch Vehicle #08388.
Duties/Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the overall technical coordination and execution of the proposal, design, development, qualification and production of products for the Launch Vehicle market.
These products include Thrust Vector Control (TVC) actuation systems (Electromechanical and Electrohydraulic) and liquid rocket propulsion valves and fluid control sub-systems (Earth storable and cryogenic).
As a member of an engineering team, the project engineer is the primary technical contact with the customer and is responsible for overall technical compliance of the product to the customer specification and statement of work, verification and validation, establishing test methods and test equipment design, problem resolution and Moog Assembly and Test (A&T) support.
Working in conjunction with the program manager, the project engineer manages program schedule, overall project cost, risk management and mitigation as well as mission assurance activities.
Attention to aspects of design for manufacture, assembly and test are also required.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering is required.
A Masters of Science Degree in Engineering is preferred.
A strong working knowledge of launch vehicles and and liquid propulsion systems is desired.
Skills/Knowledge:
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal is required to support system requirements development and validation.
Candidate must be able to work as an individual contributor, as a member of a team or as a leader of proposal or project teams.
Travel:
Frequent travel to Moog customers and Moog East Aurora is required.
1 to 2 trips per month.
Citizenship Requirements:
Due to U.S. government and military contracts, candidates must be either a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
