Duties and Responsibilities:
Support processing of parts and sub-assemblies through the functional machine shop, manufacturing cells, and A&T areas by generation operation sheets, manufacturing procedures and hands-on floor support for assigned areas.
Coordinate with various departments and process owners to assure the most effective design and use of manufacturing facilities and processes are being achieved.
Assure compatibility of engineering drawings and specifications with manufacturing and fabrication capabilities by reviewing drawings and making suggestions for changes and revisions to enhance producibility.
Establish tooling, gauging and fixture concepts. Review and approve tool, gauge and fixture design drawings.
Originate and/or makes studies directed towards more efficient manufacturing of parts. Includes recommendations for new or changes in equipment, processes, methods, materials and designs. Lead implementation of approved studies.
Project lead for a variety of manufacturing related activities.
Prepare rework procedures for salvage of discrepant parts. Follows through with corrective action to reduce possibility of reoccurrence.
Prepare cost estimates for new proposals.
Provide technical support to the production shops, suppliers and other Moog manufacturing sites
Education and Experience:
B.S. Degree required, M.E. or I.E preferred.
Minimum 3 years manufacturing engineering experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Expertise in cutting tools, machine tools, gauging, heat treating and plating.
Familiarity with fabrication and processing of Industrial hydraulic and electro-mechanical components.
Comprehension of geometric tolerancing.
Understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
Proficient knowledge of Cad/Cam systems (UG preferred).
Understanding of principals of Lean Manufacturing and PVR (Six Sigma)
