Project Engineer, EE #08365

Moog, Inc. Space and Defense Group Albuquerque Engineering Office is currently searching for a Project Engineer, EE #08365.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This person will work as part of the project engineering team in support of the design and development of complex control hardware used on military, commercial and NASA launch vehicle programs. Typically this person will be teamed with a senior engineer in support of larger projects or as the lead engineer for smaller scale programs. Major responsibilities will include the development of project schedules and risk mitigation plans, support the electronics design team with conceptual design and overall system architecture, new product proposal support, creation of development assembly and test work instructions, development of test plans and procedures, creation and submittal of data items and the support of technical trade studies directly with the customer. This position is intended to initially support the Launch Vehicle product line and over time be expected to support all product lines within the Space and Defense Group.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience, or a Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience. Previous experience should consist of the design and development of new product and processes.

Skills and Knowledge:
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal is required to support project coordination and customer support. Candidate must be able to work as an individual contributor or as a member in a team of creative, independent individuals.

Travel Requirements:
Travel to customers and vendors required. Average of 6 to 12 trips per year.

Citizenship Requirements:
Due to U.S. government and military contracts candidates must be either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.

Senior Project / Systems Engineer, ECU Development #08366

Moog, Inc. Space and Defense Group Albuquerque Engineering office is currently searching for a Senior Project / Systems Engineer, ECU Development #08366.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the overall technical coordination and execution of the proposal, design, development, qualification and early production support of Electronic Control Units (ECU) for precision EM actuation systems that support military, commercial and NASA markets. As a member of an engineering team, the project engineer is the primary technical contact with the customer and is responsible for overall technical compliance of the product to the customer specification and statement of work, verification and validation, establishing test methods and test equipment design, problem resolution and Moog Assembly and Test (A&T) support. Working in conjunction with the program manager, the project engineer manages program schedule, overall project cost, risk management and mitigation as well as mission assurance activities. Attention to aspects of design for manufacture, assembly and test are also required. This position is intended to initially support the Launch Vehicle product line and over time be expected to support all product lines within the Space and Defense Group.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in, Electrical Engineering is required. A Masters of Science Degree in Engineering is preferred. A strong working knowledge of of closed loop servo control and the implementation of different DC motor control drive methodologioes is required. Experince with Launch vehicle avionics and control electronics is desired.
